About Me

Artist's Statement

My artwork is a synthesis of ideas based on personal experience. It is my way of interpreting the world and communicating that world to others. It is a compulsion and a passion. The subjects of my work are thoughts that rotate and repeat in my mind until I have to let them out.

Biography

I was born April 22, 1985 in Honolulu, Hawaii. I have lived most of my life on a farm in rural Maine. My mother is a animal trainer and dog groomer. My father is a ferrier (that means he shoes horses) and my little sister and I are his apprentices. I have done two international exchanges. My sophomore year to Guadeloupe, the French / Creol speaking Carribean island. Also the year after my high school graduation was spent working with the Red Cross in Aguadulce, Panama. Upon my return from Panama I decided to go to school for architecture at the Wentworth Institute of Technology. After a year of this program I realized that I belonged at the university across the street, Massachusetts College of Art. I have always loved painting and even continued to paint while studying architecture, that is how I came to realize that I should be a painter. I am currently a Senior at Massart and am very happy with my Massart experience.
